The Best Part of Waking Up…..

….is Michael McDonald singing “with Folgers in your cup.”

That’s right folks, former Doobie frontman (and five-time Grammy Award winning recording artist) is now doing a Folgers Coffee jingle on the radio. I can’t seem to find it anywhere online, but the man truly is everywhere is you only open your ears and let the magic in.

How is McD not doing something with the Golden Arches yet? He and Ronald could be (and might be) brothers…and from the look of this picture he frequents their establishments often.

Phil Collins has to tape his drumsticks to his hands.

The former Genesis star has suffered severe nerve damage to his hands and admits he now finds it incredibly difficult to play his instrument.

He explained: “The first time I picked up the drum sticks after my neck surgery, they flew across the room because I couldn’t grip them.

“When I play, I’ve had to tape the sticks to my hand. It’s like wearing a condom. It’s very strange. It really cramps your style.”

That really is very strange.

KC And Sunshine Band Founder Held On Ohio Sex Rap

NEWARK, OH (AP) — A music producer and co-founder of KC and the Sunshine Band responsible for such hits as “Shake Your Booty” and “Keep It Comin’ Love” has acknowledged having sex with teenage boys, police said Wednesday.

Richard R. Finch, 56, was arrested Tuesday after a boy told authorities he’d had sexual contact with him at Finch’s home in Newark, the Licking County sheriff’s office said. The boy made the revelation last week.

Finch, while being interviewed at the sheriff’s office, admitted he’d had sex with that boy and others ranging in age from 13 to 17, police said.

Simply Red originated at a 1976 Sex Pistols gig at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in England. Manchester art student Mick Hucknall was one of the many young music fans present, along with original members of the bands Joy Division, The Smiths and Buzzcocks. The first incarnation of the band was a punk group called The Frantic Elevators, which existed for 7 years, with limited releases on local labels, but split in 1984 with only limited local attention and critical acclaim for their final single, “Holding Back the Years”. Soft punk rock?!

Give the above song (“Sunrise”) a listen. It’s pretty easy to see that in addition to the Sex Pistols, Mick became fans of soft rock gods, Daryl Hall & John Oates. Now I CAN go for that!

It’s been an interesting 30-year down-hill ride since then, leading up to the picture below. (what’s with the crossed arm pose fellas? trying to push out the guns?)

“Careless Whisper” - Wham! featuring George Michael

George Michael was just a pussy-loving 17 year old when he wrote this, according to legend. He wrote the sax intro as well, one of the most memorable hooks in the soft rock cannon. A classic.

I guess it must just be in the blood; 20-year-old vocal phenom Jesse Money is the daughter of rocker Eddie Money.

Jesse competed on the MTV reality competition “Rock the Cradle”, which featured the offspring of music legends like Olivia Newton-John and Kenny Loggins. She was eliminated in the first round, but continues to focus on her music career.

In January, Eddie Money said in an interview that he believes Jessica will get a record deal this year. He also happened to mention that “She got a DUI on New Year’s Eve, so now she can’t drive for a year … Gotta live and learn, baby!” and also said Jessica and her boyfriend “drink like fishes.” Thank you, Eddie.
